COL BKB: Marquette 94, Georgetown 82

MILWAUKEE, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Jerel McNeal's 26 points and 11 assists Saturday led eighth-ranked Marquette's 11th straight victory, a 94-82 decision against No. 23 Georgetown.

McNeal also blocked three shots.

After a closely played first half, which ended in a 42-42 tie, the Eagles used a 12-2 spurt early in the second stanza to seize control, outscoring GU, 52-40, in the second half.

Both Wesley Matthews and Lazar Hayward scored 23 points, while Dominic James totaled 10 points, four rebounds, three assists, and three of 13 steals for the Golden Eagles (19-2, 8-0 Big East), who have won 11 in a row.

Despite a foot injury, DaJuan Summers paced struggling Georgetown with 22 points and seven rebounds.

Chris Wright had 19 points and eight assists.

Greg Monroe had 13 points and four rebounds, with Austin Freeman adding 12 points, five rebounds and three assists for the Hoyas (12-8, 3-6), who have lost five in a row.
