NBA: Atlanta 105, New Jersey 88

ATLANTA, Jan. 30 (UPI) -- Joe Johnson moved within one point of 10,000 for his NBA career Friday and led the Atlanta Hawks to a 105-88 whipping of New Jersey.

Johnson scored 29 points one day after being named as a reserve to the Eastern Conference All-Star team. Flip Murray added 23 points and Mike Bibby had 20 for Atlanta, which had lost its previous three games.

Devin Harris scored 20 for New Jersey, losers of three straight and eight out of nine. Vince Carter chipped in 18 points, but made only 6-of-18 shots from the field.

Atlanta closed the third period with an 11-3 run to take an 80-71 lead and finished off the game with a 16-6 outburst.

It was the fourth and final regular-season game between the teams. New Jersey had won the first three.
