BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Damian Johnson's 18 points and six rebounds Sunday sparked No. 20 Minnesota's 67-63 Big Ten Conference victory against Indiana.
Sunday's victory followed a miserable 22.7 shooting percentage in a 70-62 loss to Purdue last Thursday.
Freshman center Ralph Sampson III scored 13 points with eight rebounds and six blocked shots.
Lance Westbrook scored 12 points, and Jamal Abu-Shamala added 10 points and three rebounds for the Golden Gophers (17-3, 5-3), who stopped a string of three straight UM losses at Indiana's Assembly Hall in Bloomington.
Minnesota led the tight contest 31-30 at the half, and and won despite sinking only 4-of-16 three-point tries the entire contest.
Devan Dumes's 19 points and four rebounds led Indiana, sinking 4-of-6 three-point attempts.
Malik Story scored 14 points, and Tom Pritchard added 10 points with five rebounds for the Hoosiers (5-13, 0-6), whose losing streak grew to nine straight games.
