VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Jason Williams' shootout goal was a game-winner Sunday night when the Columbus Blue Jackets beat Vancouver 6-5.
After rookie goalie Steve Mason stifled Kyle Wellwood in the first-round of the shootout, Williams scored on Robert Luongo. After Mats Sundin missed for Vancouver, Rick Nash -- in his first game back from the injured list -- beat Luongo to seal the victory, the Blue Jackets' fourth in five games.
Williams just joined Columbus, having come over Wednesday from Atlanta. Nash -- who had missed four games -- finished Sunday night with a goal and two assists.
Kristian Huselius had two assists and Mason stopped 25 shots for the Blue Jackets.
Henrik Sedin and Kevin Bieksa both had a goal and an assist each, and Luongo finished with 23 saves for the Canucks, who have lost five straight games.
