CINCINNATI, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Derrick Brown made all six of his field goal attempts and scored 20 points Thursday, leading No. 18 Xavier to a 70-44 blasting of St. Louis.
It was the opening Atlantic 10 Conference game for both teams.
Six of Brown's points were from three-point range and he was also perfect in five tries from the foul line. Xavier (12-2) won its third straight after losing back-to-back games to Duke and Butler.
The Billikens (9-6) shot just 31 percent from the floor and did not have a player in double figures. Kevin Lisch paced St. Louis with nine.
Xavier scored the game's first seven points, took a 39-22 lead at the break and was not threatened during the second period.
