BOSTON, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Von Wafer's three-point shot with 47 seconds remaining put Houston in front Wednesday and the Rockets went on to surprise slumping Boston 89-85.

Since putting together a franchise-record 19-game winning streak, Boston has lost six out of eight games. The previous five setbacks had been on the road and this loss ended a 13-game home winning streak.

After Wafer's three-pointer, Boston's Paul Pierce missed a jumper with 33 seconds remaining. Houston ran the shot clock down before Carl Landry missed a layup attempt, but Yao grabbed the offensive rebound and laid it in with 3 seconds to play.

Pierce led Boston with 26 points and Kevin Garnett had 18. Houston came back from a 31-22 deficit after the first period.
