MIAMI, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Baltimore's vaunted defense came up with five turnovers Sunday on the way to a dominant 27-9 AFC wild-card victory against the Miami Dolphins.

Safety Ed Reed, the AFC's defensive player of the month for December, made two interceptions, returning one 64 yards for a second-quarter touchdown.

The ball-hawking defense made two other picks and recovered a fumble.

Despite losing a second-quarter fumble, LeRon McClain scored once on 19 carries for 75 yards, while Derrick Mason caught four passes for 71 yards for the Ravens (12-5), who have a date with the Tennessee Titans Saturday.

Miami's Chad Pennington completed 25-of-38 passes for 252 yards and one touchdown but four interceptions.

Ronny Brown caught Pennington's 2-yard, fourth-quarter touchdown pass with one hand, but gained only 19 yards of the team's 52 rushing yards on 12 carries. Patrick Cobbs, who lost a third-quarter fumble, accounted for 55 yards on four receptions for the Dolphins, who were a league-low 1-15 a year ago.
