COL FB: Connecticut 38, Buffalo 20

TORONTO, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Donald Brown ran for 261 yards and Tyler Lorenzen accounted for three TDs Saturday in Connecticut's 38-20 International Bowl win over Buffalo.

Lorenzen ran for two touchdowns and passed for another while the Huskies (8-5) won for only the third time in their last eight games.

Buffalo (8-6) was appearing in its first bowl game after capturing the Mid-American Conference title with a 42-24 victory over previously-unbeaten Ball State. Buffalo had a 20-17 halftime lead after five UConn turnovers, but was outscored 21-0 in the second half.

Buffalo quarterback Drew Willy threw for 213 yards with an interception that was returned for a touchdown, He completed 29-of-43 passes.

Lorenzen's first touchdown was a 13-yard run with 4:01 left in the half after a 75-yard run by Brown. Lorenzen also scored on a 15-yard run with 4:44 left in the game and threw a 4-yard TD pass in the third quarter when the Huskies went ahead for good.
