Quick, Little, Ovechkin earn NHL honors

NEW YORK, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Alex Ovechkin of Washington, Bryan Little of Atlanta and Jonathan Quick of Los Angeles were named the NHL's weekly "Three Stars" Monday.

Ovechkin, a left wing, scored five goals and added an assist for the Capitals, who won their three games in the week ending Dec. 28 to increase their Southeast Division lead to 10 points. He is second in the league with 49 points (25 goals, 24 assists) in 35 games.

Little, a center for the Thrashers, had an NHL-leading six goals in three games, including his first NHL career hat trick. He leads the team with 18 goals and ranks fourth on the club in points with 30.

Quick, the goalie the Kings just called up from the minors Dec. 16, posted a 2-1-0 record with a 0.67 goals-against average, .958 save percentage and two shutouts in three games. He recorded his first NHL shutout.

He has a 2-2-0 record with a 1.88 GAA, .933 save percentage and two shutouts in five appearances with the Kings this season.
