PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb says he would rather stay in Philadelphia rather than sign with another NFL team next season.
"I expect to be here and I will play this game not like it's my last," McNabb said at a meeting with reporters Wednesday after a practice for Sunday's contest against the Dallas Cowboys.
The 10-year veteran was benched in the Eagles' 36-7 loss Nov. 24 after a first half in which he completed 8-of-18 passes for just 59 yards with two interceptions and a fumble. He rebounded with solid efforts in the Eagles' 48-20 win over Arizona and 20-14 win over the New York Giants before regressing in last Sunday's 10-3 loss to Washington.
"I think I've played great," he said. "I don't look at the stats aspect of it, but if you do, it has been better than it has been in years."
Callers on talk-radio have been up in arms about his season.
