NBA: New Orleans 99, Sacramento 90

NEW ORLEANS, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Chris Paul's 34 pints, nine assists and eight steals Saturday night led the New Orleans Hornets' 99-90 win over Sacramento.

Paul made four of his 12 free throws in the fourth period to help keep Sacramento at bay.

James Posey scored 19 points with four rebounds and three assists. David West had 12 points and four rebounds, while both Tyson Chandler and Morris Peterson scored 10 points in the Hornets' fourth win in a row.

A three-pointer by Morris Peterson and two layups by Posey gave New Orleans an 81-67 lead with 7:20 left.

John Salmons led Sacramento with 26 points and seven assists. Francisco Garcia had 16 points and three rebounds.

Brad Miller scored 13 with nine rebounds and Bobby Jackson added 12 points, five rebounds and four assists in the Kings' third straight loss and the fifth in their last six games.

The Kings fell to 0-3 on their four-game road trip.
