NBA: New Jersey 121, Dallas 97

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Devin Harris burned his former team with 41 points and 13 assists Friday, leading the New Jersey Nets to a 121-97 blasting of Dallas.

Jason Kidd played in New Jersey for the first time since being traded from the Nets to Dallas last season in exchange for Harris. On this occasion, the trade worked out better for New Jersey.

Harris is averaging 23.8 points per game. He hit 14-of-25 shots from the floor against the Mavericks.

Vince Carter added 34 points and 10 rebounds. Yi Jianlian scored 16 and Jarvis Hayes had14. The Nets had lost four of their previous five games.

Dirk Nowitzki paced Dallas with 24. The Mavericks have lost two out of three after a stretch in which they won 11 out of 13.

Kidd scored 17 points with seven assists. Jason Terry contributed 23 points.

New Jersey took a 13-point lead into the fourth quarter and Dallas came no closer than 10 during the final 12 minutes.
