SACRAMENTO, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- The Sacramento Kings have fired head Coach Reggie Theus and assistant Coach Chuck Person, the team announced on its Web site Monday.

The announcement said assistant Kenny Natt was named head coach on an interim basis.

Sacramento, 6-18, is in last place in the Pacific Division in Theus' second season as coach. He got the post June 19, 2007, and Sacramento has gone 44-62 since then.

Natt, who has spent the last 28 years in pro basketball, will take over his first NBA head coaching post.

He spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the Cleveland Cavaliers, helping them reach the 2007 NBA Finals. He previously worked nine seasons under Jerry Sloan with the Utah Jazz, during which time the Jazz made two NBA Finals appearances.

Theus was the sixth NBA head coach to be fired this season. Maurice Cheeks was ousted by Philadelphia this weekend.
