NEWARK, N.J., Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Travis Zajac broke a scoreless tie with 2:21 remaining in the second period Wednesday and New Jersey dominated the third in downing Pittsburgh 4-1.
Scott Clemmensen made 26 saves in what was the Devils' eighth win in nine games.
Clemmensen had his bid for what would have been his first shutout in five seasons spoiled when Matt Cooke tipped in a shot by Evgeni Malkin with 3:58 to go.
Dany Sabourin allowed three goals on 31 shots. The Penguins have lost three in a row and four out of five.
Parise's goal was his 16th of the year, tops for the Devils. The teams have met three times and New Jersey has won twice.
