Goalie Peter Budaj stopped 29 shots.

Los Angeles' only goal came from Oscar Moller on the power play in the second period. Jason LaBarbera allowed six goals on 26 shots for the Kings, who fell to 1-3-1 in December.

"It was a (expletive) effort by everyone," said LaBarbera.

Svatos punched home a rebound at the left post following a scramble in front 3:28 into the game and Hejduk followed suit 25 seconds later with a one-timer from Paul Stastny for his12th goal of the season to give Colorado all the offense it would need this night.
