NHL: Chicago 2, Ottawa 0

CHICAGO, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Cristobal Huet made 23 saves Wednesday to earn the 18th shutout of his career in Chicago's 2-0 victory over Ottawa.

Patrick Kane and Troy Brouwer scored for the Blackhawks, winners of three out of four.

Martin Gerber, making his first appearance in goal since Nov. 7, stopped 28 shots for the Senators. Alex Auld had started the 11 previous games for Ottawa, but had lost three of his last five.

Kane scored 5:17 into the contest and it was the only score of the game until Brouwer tallied into an empty net with 41 seconds to play.
