NBA: New Orleans 105, Charlotte 89

NEW ORLEANS, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- David West and Peja Stojakovic led a balanced attack with 17 points each Wednesday, sending New Orleans to a 105-89 triumph over Charlotte.

Morris Peterson contributed 16 points and Chris Paul had 15 along with 15 rebounds. It was the Hornets' seventh win in eight games.

D.J. Augustin scored 28 points for Charlotte, which played short-handed because of a trade made earlier in the day. The Bobcats sent shooting guard Jason Richardson, forward Jared Dudley and a 2010 second- round draft choice to Phoenix for shooting guard Raja Bell, forward Boris Diaw and rookie point guard Sean Singletary.

Richardson was the Bobcats' leading scorer with 18.7 points per game.

New Orleans took a 19-point halftime lead and led by 31 after three quarters.
