Westbrook leads NFC weekly winners

NEW YORK, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Philadelphia's Bryant Westbrook is the NFC offensive player of the week.

The versatile running back, in his seventh season from Villanova, became the fourth player in NFL history to accumulate two rushing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns in the same contest when the Eagles beat the Arizona Cardinals, 48-20, on Thanksgiving night.

Westbrook is one of only seven players in NFL history with at least 25 rushing and 25 receiving touchdowns.

Joining him in the NFC are Minnesota end Jared Allen (defense) and Carolina kick returner Mark Jones (special teams).

Allen made eight tackles with three sacks in the Vikings' 34-14 rout of Chicago, giving Minnesota sole possession of first place in the NFC North Division.

Jones, in his fifth NFL season, had 201 combined kick-return yards, the third-most in team history, in the Panthers' 35-31 win at Green Bay.

He was the third Panther to garner a POW honor this season, joining quarterback Jake Delhomme and defensive end Julius Peppers.
