COL FB: Georgia Tech 45, Georgia 42

ATHENS, Ga., Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Roddy Jones rushed for 214 yards and two touchdowns Saturday to lead 23rd-ranked Georgia Tech to a 45-42 win over 13th-ranked Georgia.

Jonathan Dwyer added 144 yards and two touchdowns and Lucas Cox added a rushing touchdown for the Yellow Jackets (8-4), who won three of their last four games.

Georgia Tech trailed by 16 points, 28-12, to start the second half but outscored Georgia 26-0 in the third quarter.

But Georgia Tech, which snapped a seven-game losing streak to Georgia, was denied a spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game when Virginia Tech beat Virginia Saturday.

Georgia's Matthew Stafford was 24-for-39 for 407 yards, five touchdowns and one interception and Mohamed Massaquoi caught 11 passes for 180 yards and three TDs for the Bulldogs (9-3), who had won five of six going into the game.
