NEWARK, N.J., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Brian Gionta had a goal and an assist Friday night to lead the New Jersey Devils past the New York Islanders 5-2.
Jamie Langenbrunner and Zach Parise had three assists apiece and Kevin Weekes stopped 25 shots for the Devils, who have won three straight.
The Devils also got goals from David Clarkson (power play), Bryce Salvador (shorthanded) and Paul Martin (power play). Salvador's first goal of the season, at 3:52 of the second period, turned out to be the game-winner.
Andy Hilbert and Sean Bergenheim scored goals and Joey MacDonald allowed five goals on 33 shots for the Islanders, who lost for the first time in their last four games.
On the power play, New Jersey went 2-for-5, while the Islanders failed to score on any of their three man-advantage chances.
