CALGARY, Alberta, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff turned back 22 Colorado shots Tuesday as Calgary stymied the Avalanche 4-1.
Adrian Aucoin, Rene Bourque, Jarome Iginla and David Moss each buried the puck in the net for Calgary, which has gone 3-5 after a six-game win streak.
The game didn't tilt in the Flames' favor until the 7:32 remained in the third period when they broke away from a 1-1 tie with a goal by Aucoin.
"We worked hard on systems and tonight that was the difference," said Aucoin. "Our guys worked hard and we did it right. When you do as you're told, things normally work out well."
Peter Budaj was busy in front of the Avalanche net, making 47 saves. But it wasn't enough as Colorado saw its win streak ended at three.
Marek Svatos scored the only Colorado goal.
