Neshek, in his third year in the big leagues, appeared in 15 games for Minnesota in 2008 before suffering an elbow injury in May. He finished 0-1 with a 4.73 earned-run average and 15 strikeouts in 13 1/3 innings.
The 28-year-old re-injured his elbow in an offseason throwing session and underwent an MRI Tuesday that revealed a tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow.
