NHL: Ottawa 4, Philadelphia 1

OTTAWA, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Alex Auld made 17 saves against the NHL's highest-scoring team Thursday, leading the Ottawa Senators to a 4-1 decision over Philadelphia.

The Flyers came into the game averaging 3.91 goals per game, but they managed only a second-period tally from Arron Asham that cut their deficit to 2-1.

Jesse Winchester restored a two-goal Ottawa lead less than a minute later and the Senators maintained that advantage until Chris Neil produced an empty net goal with 1:41 to play.

It was the fourth road win for the Senators this year, twice as many as they have had at home.

Auld is unbeaten in his last five starts and has allowed a total of seven goals in those outings.

Antero Niittymaki made 22 saves in the loss.
