ATLANTA, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Ilya Kovalchuk scored twice and added an assist for the Atlanta Thrashers Sunday in a 5-3 win over the Florida Panthers.
Kovalchuk's first goal, at 5:05 of the second period, put Atlanta ahead 2-0. Kovalchuk scored again later in the period, on a power play, pushing the Thrashers' advantage to 4-1.

Todd White scored a goal and added an assist for Atlanta. Slava Kozlov and Brian Little also recorded goals.
David Booth, Nathan Horton and Noah Welch got the Florida goals.
