TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Evgeny Artyukhin's goal in the eighth round of a shootout Saturday night boosted the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators.

It was Tampa Bay's third straight win.

With the shootout tied 2-2, Artyukhin beat Alex Auld with a wrist shot and Ottawa's Dean McAmmond could not answer.

In regulation, Tampa Bay's Vincent Lecavalier and Matt Carle scored once each and were matched by Ottawa's Antoine Vermette (power play) and Dany Heatley, who has scored a goal in three straight games.

Carle halted a 40-game goal drought, scoring for the first time since Dec. 29 of last season.

In regulation, Tampa Bay goalie Mike Smith made 29 saves on 31 shots.

For the Senators, Auld was beaten twice on 34 shots.

Ottawa was 1-for-3 on the power play, while Tampa Bay failed on each of its four chances with the extra skater.
