CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Carolina kicker John Kasay, who has made 21 straight field goals, was signed by the Panthers Wednesday to a four-year contract extension.
The 39-year-old Kasay, an 18-year NFL veteran, kicked two field goals Sunday in the Panthers' 27-23 win over Arizona, raising his career total to 374. The two kicks moved him past Jan Stenerud into eighth place on the all-time NFL field goal list.
Kasay's streak includes a perfect 16-for-16 on field goal attempts this season.
Kasay started his NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks in 1991. He was signed by Carolina in 1995, the team's first year in the league.
