TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Police in Florida say they arrested Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Luis Vizcaino on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Police in Tampa, Fla., say the 34-year-old major league player was stopped early Monday after allegedly traveling at more than 25 mph above the posted speed limit on an area highway, The Tampa (Fla.) Tribune reported.

The police officer involved suspected Vizcaino was intoxicated and a breath test allegedly found his blood-alcohol level was slightly above the legal limit.

The Rockies reliever, who has a career major league record of 34-27, was arrested and was being held on $500 bail.

The resident of St. Petersburg, Fla., will face a misdemeanor charge, police say.

The Tribune said Vizcaino, who previously played with the Milwaukee Brewers and the Oakland Athletics, went 1-2 this season with a combined .528 earned-run average.
