ST. PAUL, Minn., Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Derek Roy scored 44 seconds into overtime Thursday night to wrap up a Buffalo comeback and give the Sabres a 4-3 win over Minnesota.

The Wild became the last NHL team this season to suffer a loss after winning four straight to open the campaign. Buffalo has won six out of seven to start the year.

Minnesota owned a 3-1 lead when Adam Mair tipped the puck past Niklas Backstrom with four minutes to play. Thomas Vanek then kept his hot start to the season going by tying the game with 3:14 to go.

Vanek has scored eight goals to lead the NHL in the early going.

Roy wasted no time beating Backstrom with a wrist shot to give Buffalo the victory. The Sabres had to go extra time Tuesday before beating Boston in a shootout.

Ryan Miller made 30 saves to get the win.
