HOUSTON, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Quarterback Matt Schaub threw two touchdown passes Sunday, helping the Houston Texans hold on for a 28-21 win over the Detroit Lions.
Both scoring passes by the former University of Virginia and Atlanta Falcons product went to tight end Owen Daniels.
Wide receiver Andre Johnson made 11 receptions for 141 yards, while running backs Steve Slaton and Ahman Green ran for one touchdown apiece for the Texans (2-4), who have won two straight after losing their first four games.
Detroit wide receiver Calvin Johnson scored on a 96-yard pass play early in the fourth quarter and finished with just two receptions for 154 yards.
Quarterback Dan Orlovsky completed 12-of-25 passes for 265 yards and Johnson's touchdown.
Wide receiver Mike Furrey made six catches for 89 yards, and running back scored once after gaining 61 yards on 10 carries for the hapless Lions (0-6), who have lost their opening six games for the first time since 2001.
