EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Running back Thomas Jones accounted for three touchdowns Sunday when the New York Jets rolled to a 26-14 victory over the winless Cincinnati Bengals.

Jones scored on runs of 1 and 7 yards, and on a 2-yard pass from Brett Favre. He finished with 78 all-purpose yards (65 rushing on 17 carries; 13 yards on three receptions).

Favre completed 25-of-33 passes for 189 yards, but threw two interceptions. Jerricho Cotchery was his primary target, making eight catches for 85 yards for the Jets (3-2), who have scored 82 points in their last two wins.

Cincinnati strong safety Chinedum Ndukwe returned a fumble 15 yards for a first-quarter touchdown.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, starting in place of injured starting quarterback Carson Palmer (elbow), went 20-for-33 for 152 yards.

Fitzpatrick also scored on a 1-yard, second-quarter run for the Bengals (0-6), who have not won since ending the 2007 regular season with a 38-25 victory against the Miami Dolphins.
