MLB: Cleveland 6, Minnesota 4

CLEVELAND, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Jhonny Peralta doubled home the go-ahead run in the seventh Wednesday and Cleveland outlasted Minnesota 6-4.

The Twins lost their fourth straight and failed to capitalize on a loss earlier in the evening by the Chicago White Sox. Minnesota remained 2 1/2 games behind Chicago in the American League Central race.

Peralta and Shin-Soo Choo had two RBI each and Travis Hafner added a solo homer, his first in four months.

Cleveland swept the Twins in a three-game series after losing three in a row.

Indians starter Cliff Lee did not figure in the decision, giving up three runs on 10 hits. He still leads the majors with a 2.41 ERA and has not lost in 13 straight starts.

The victory went to Edward Mujica (3-2), who recorded the final two outs in the seventh. Jensen Lewis earned his 10th save.

Justin Morneau drove in two runs for the Twins and has 24 RBI in his last 16 games. Jose Mijares (0-1) gave up Peralta's double in the seventh to take the loss.

After Peralta drove in Jamey Carroll to give the Indians a 5-4 lead, Victor Martinez delivered Peralta with a double.
