DENVER, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Jay Cutler tossed last-minute touchdown and two-point conversion passes to Eddie Royal Sunday, lifting the Denver Broncos to a 39-38 win over San Diego.

Cutler took the Broncos, trailing by seven points, on a long drive that ended with a 9-yard scoring pass to Royal with 29 seconds on the clock. The Broncos then went for the win and Cutler and Royal connected again with 24 seconds left.

The Denver quarterback threw 50 passes in the game, completing 36 for 350 yards and four touchdowns.

The Broncos' Brandon Marshall caught 18 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown and Tony Scheffler hauled in six for 64 yards and two scores.

Philip Rivers tossed three touchdown passes for San Diego (0-2). Rivers completed 21 passes for 377 yards, with an interception.

Chris Chambers caught four passes for 83 yards and two touchdowns for the Chargers.
