MLB: LA Angels 5, Seattle 2

ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Francisco Rodriguez established a single-season record Saturday with his 58th save to help the LA Angels record a 5-2 victory against the Seattle Mariners.

The 26-year-old closer bettered Bobby Thigpen's 57 saves in the 1990 season by striking out two of the four batters he faced in the top of the ninth, when he walked one and gave up a hit.
