MIAMI, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Jorge Cantu hit a solo homer and Scott Olsen gave up a run over six innings Friday, allowing the Florida Marlins to edge Washington 2-1.

The Marlins won their third straight, scoring an unearned run to take the lead in the sixth inning.

Olsen (7-10) gave up six hits and struck out four to get the win.

Joe Nelson escaped a two-out, two-on jam in the eighth and Matt Lindstrom worked a perfect ninth for his third save.

Cantu's homer tied the game in the fourth and with the blast, the Marlins became the first team in major league history to have four infielders with 25 or more homers in a season.

The loss went to Shairon Martis (0-2), who surrendered only two hits but walked three in five-plus innings. Martis also struck out nine in his second career start.
