MLB: LA Dodgers 6, San Diego 2

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Andre Ethier drove in four runs Tuesday, propelling the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-2 in over the San Diego Padres.

Manny Ramirez helped the Dodgers' cause with a solo homer, the 522 of his career that moved him into sole possession of 17th place on the all-time home run list. Ramirez also had an RBI sacrifice fly.

Los Angeles has won nine of its last 10 games and holds a 2 1/2-game lead over Arizona in the National League West. The Diamondbacks lost to San Francisco Tuesday.

Kevin Kouzmanoff and Chase Headley drove in runs for the Padres, who left 10 men stranded.

San Diego starter Wade LeBlanc allowed only one run over six innings but it was Heath Bell (6-6) who took the loss by giving up two runs in the eighth.

Joe Beimel (5-1) and Cory Wade combined to pitch a scoreless bottom of the eighth. Jonathan Broxton pitched a scoreless ninth.

LA starter Hiroki Kuroda surrendered two runs in his six innings of work.
