MLB: Detroit 7, Minnesota 5

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Dusty Ryan, Miguel Cabrera and Magglio Ordonez homered for Detroit Sunday in a 7-5 win over the Minnesota Twins, who have lost five of their last six games.

Ryan hit his first major league home run, a two-run shot. Cabrera and Ordonez each had a solo homer, Marcus Thames added two RBI and Curtis Granderson knocked in a run for the Tigers, who took the last two games of a three-game series.

Chris Lambert (1-1) worked five innings and got the win, allowing four runs and seven hits.

Minnesota remained 2 1/2 games behind the American League Central-leading Chicago White Sox, who lost 3-2 to the Los Angeles Angels.

Justin Morneau hit a two-run triple and finished with four RBI for the Twins.

Glen Perkins (12-4) gave up five runs and nine hits in 5 2/3 innings and was charged with the loss.
