MLB: Atlanta 16, Florida 14

MIAMI, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Ruben Gotay doubled home the winning run in the ninth inning Tuesday to give the Atlanta Braves a 16-14 victory over the Florida Marlins.

Kelly Johnson and Omar Infante both had four hits, with Johnson driving in four runs and Infante three. Six players had multi-hit games for the Braves, who have still lost 17 of 22 games.

Charlie Morton gave up seven runs on five hits and three walks in 3 1/3 innings. Jorge Julio (1-0) got the win despite giving up a game-tying run in the eighth.

Mike Gonzalez got his eighth save of the year and his 38th consecutive save, the longest active streak in the majors.

Alfredo Amezaga drove in five runs on two hits and Cody Ross went 3-for-5 for the Marlins, losers of four out of six. Matt Lindstrom (3-3) took the loss for the second straight game after giving up two runs in the ninth.
