COL FB: West Virginia 48, Villanova 21

MORGANTOWN, W.Va., Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Pat White hit 25 of 33 passes for 208 yards and five touchdowns and ran for 63 yards Saturday in eighth-ranked West Virginia's 48-21 win over Villanova.

Jock Sanders caught eight passes for 62 yards and two touchdowns, and Alric Arnett caught four passes for 70 yards and two TDs for the Mountaineers.

Antwon Young was 17-of-33 for 218 yards and two interceptions for the Wildcats, who surprised the Mountaineers with a 41-36 upset victory the last time Villanova visited Morgantown back in 1977.

Villanova out-gained West Virginia in total yards, 399-354, despite being the losing team.
