GREEN BAY, Wis., Aug. 28 (UPI) -- A 40-yard scoring run by Vincent Fuller in the second period Thursday helped stake Tennessee to a 16-point lead and the Titans held off Green Bay 23-21.
The Packers scored as time expired on a 22-yard throw from Matt Flynn to Jake Allen, but Flynn's attempted two-point conversion pass to Johnny Quinn fell incomplete.
Tennessee's Vince Young, one of the few starting quarterbacks to see action in the NFL's final round of exhibition games, completed 13 of 27 passes for 137 yards. He scrambled three times for 57 yards.
Fuller's touchdown run gave the Titans a 10-7 lead and a one-yard scoring plunge by Chris Johnson in the third period made it 23-7.
Tennessee (3-1) will begin its regular season at home against Jacksonville. Green Bay (1-3), which will embark on a season without Brett Favre for the first time in 17 years, will open at home against Minnesota in a Monday night affair.
