PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Chris Coste's RBI single in the bottom of the 13th inning Tuesday completed the Philadelphia Phillies' 8-7 come-from-behind win over the New York Mets.
Coste, who came in off the bench, finished 4-for-4 on a night when Philadelphia fell behind 7-0 then turned the tables on the Mets to grab first place in the National League East by a half-game.
Coste's winning hit to center over a drawn-in outfield off Scott Schoeneweis came after Shane Victorino led off with a triple, Jayson Werth and Eric Bruntlett were intentionally walked, and Brett Myers struck out.
Jimmy Rollins drove in three runs for the winners while tying a career-high with five hits. He also stole three bases.
Rollins and Ryan Howard hit two-run homers as Philadelphia won for the seventh time in eight games.
The Mets got homers from Damion Easley and Fernando Tatis but lost for the third time in four tries.
Rudy Seanez (5-3) got the win with a perfect inning of relief for starter Jamie Moyer, who gave up six runs.
Schoeneweis (2-3) took the loss with his third of an inning on the mound. Mets starter Pedro Martinez gave up five runs in five innings.
