ST. LOUIS, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- St. Louis Rams guard Mark Setterstrom and tackle Brandon Gorin likely will miss the 2008 season because of injuries, a team report said Sunday.
Setterstrom hurt his left knee in a pre-season game against the San Diego Chargers Saturday.
The 24-year-old player, who was drafted by the Rams in 2006, was carried off the field. The Rams said Setterstrom is scheduled for surgery this week.
A knee injury also sidelined Setterstrom for most of last season.
The Rams also learned that a shoulder injury suffered by tackle Brandon Gorin in an Aug. 9 pre-season game is severe enough to keep him out this season.
"Brandon Gorin's shoulder injury is a little more severe than originally diagnosed," Coach Scott Linehan said. "It was not misdiagnosis. They were continuing to study the MRI and those things and he has a pretty significant shoulder injury."
