SAN DIEGO, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Jake Peavy gave up a run and four hits in seven innings Thursday to lead the San Diego Padres to a 3-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Jody Gerut, Tadahito Iguchi and Brian Myrow each drove in a run, while both Chase Headley and Kevin Kouzmanoff had two hits for the Padres.
Cameron knocked in a run for Milwaukee with a first-inning single. Craig Counsell had two hits for the Brewers, whose eight-game winning streak ended.
Losing pitcher Ben Sheets (11-6) surrendered three earned runs and five hits in 6 2/3 innings with two walks and four strikeouts.
Milwaukee had not been beaten since a 6-3 loss to Cincinnati Aug. 4.
