BOSTON, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Three players knocked in two runs Wednesday, propelling Boston to an 8-4 victory against the Texas Rangers.
Kevin Youkilis, who finished with three hits, hit a two-run double in the bottom of the second inning.One of Jed Lowrie's two hits was a two-run, fifth-inning double. Jason Bay had two hits and two RBI.
Sean Casey added one RBI and scored a run on a second-inning throwing error by Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
Winner Jon Lester (11-4) surrendered three earned runs and seven hits in 7 1/3 innings with a walk and six strikeouts as the Red Sox won for the ninth time in their last 12 games.
Texas scored all of its runs in the eighth on a solo homer by Ian Kinsler and a three-run shot by Milton Bradley.
