BOSTON, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Kevin Youkilis' three-run, eighth-inning home run -- his second homer of the game -- boosted Boston over Texas 19-17 Tuesday in a game that had 37 hits.
Boston scored 10 runs in the first inning but trailed 16-14 later in the contest.
David Ortiz hit two three-run homers, both in the first inning, and Dustin Pedroia drove in two runs and scored three for the Red Sox.
Ian Kinsler had a three-run homer and four RBI, Chris David and Frank Catalanotto three RBI each and Marlon Byrd collected four hits and scored four runs for the Rangers, who have dropped five of six.
Reliever Hideki Okajima (3-2) earned the win, pitching 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
Frank Francisco (2-4) was the loser.
