NFL: Carolina 23, Indianapolis 20 (OT)

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 9 (UPI) -- John Kasay kicked a 46-yard field goal in overtime to give the Carolina Panthers a 23-20 pre-season win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Kasey also kicked field goals of 35 yards and 38 yards for the Panthers, who had two first-quarter touchdown runs from DeAngelo Williams. The running back finished with 55 yards on nine carries.

Jake Delhomme made his return to the field after missing the final 13 games of 2007 due to a season-ending injury to his throwing elbow against the Atlanta Falcons last Sept. 23. Delhomme attempted only one pass, which was incomplete, before being pulled after two series.

Jacob Tamme caught two touchdown passes from Jared Lorenzen for the Colts.

Colts starting quarterback Peyton Manning missed the game after undergoing minor knee surgery last month.
