MLB: LA Angels 10, New York Yankees 5

ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Torii Hunter had four hits, including a home run and a double, and drove in four runs Friday night to lead the LA Angels past the New York Yankees 10-5.

Hunter also scored twice and Howie Kendrick had four hits, one RBI and a run scored for the Angels, who racked up 17 hits in their eighth win in 10 games. Vladimir Guerrero had three hits, one RBI and three runs scored and Mark Teixeira had two hits, one RBI and a run scored for the Angels.

Jered Weaver (10-9) got the win despite giving up five runs on seven hits with two walks and three strikeouts in six innings.

The Yankees -- who came into the game with four wins in their six previous games -- got two hits apiece from Johnny Damon, Xavier Nady and Robinson Cano, and Nady drove in two runs.

Starter Ian Kennedy (0-4) lasted just two innings, giving up five runs on five hits with one walk and one strikeout.
