INDIANAPOLIS, July 29 (UPI) -- Morgan Hamm will be allowed to complete on the U.S. Olympics gymnastics team after an international body said it wouldn't appeal a warning from a doping agency.

Hamm was given a warning July 3 from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency after testing positive for a prohibited substance. The gymnast had taken an anti-inflammatory medication while under the care of a physician but failed to seek a therapeutic use exemption.

Last week, USA Gymnastics said USADA's public warning didn't demand Hamm be disqualified from completion. On Tuesday the International Gymnastics Federal said it wouldn't appeal that action.

Hamm was first in the floor exercise at the 2008 U.S. championships and was part of the United States' silver-medal team at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.

The decision on Hamm's status comes one day after his twin brother, Paul Hamm, withdrew from the Olympic team because of injury. He was replaced by Raj Bhavsar on the U.S. team. Paul Hamm won the Olympic gold medal in the men's gymnastics all-around in 2004.
