Rookie Reavie notches first PGA win

OAKVILLE, Ontario, July 27 (UPI) -- American rookie Chez Reavie shot a 1-under-par 70 and won his first PGA Tour title Sunday, a three-shot victory at the Canadian Open.

Reavie finished at 17-under 267 at the Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, near Toronto, to collect the winner's check of $900,000.

Tour veteran Billy Mayfair closed with a 68 and took second place at 14-under 270.

Sean O'Hair (68) and Steve Marino (70) tied for third at 271.

"I'm so excited," Reavie said. "For this to be my first legitimate chance to win a tournament and be able to pull it off is pretty amazing."

Reavie played college golf at Arizona State. He won the 2001 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship.
