Lundberg wins Russian Open

MOSCOW, July 27 (UPI) -- A closing 4-under-par 68 Sunday helped Sweden's Mikael Lundberg capture the European Tour's Russian Open golf tournament by two strokes.

The 68 was his fourth straight sub-70 score (67, 64, 68, 68) and gave him his second career tournament crown.

Lundberg's winning total, 21-under 267, beat Spain's Jose Manuel Lara, who closed with an 8-under 64 to make his runner-up total 19-under 269.

"This is my absolute favorite place, everything is great here," Lundberg said after winning the Moscow event for the second time. "It feels like I always play well here and I should do well, so you put a lot of pressure on yourself and you wonder when you are going to screw up!"

He had missed the cut in his previous two events and this was his first top-10 finish this season.

At 18-under 270, England's Benn Barham (68) finished alone in third place while Norway's Jan Are Larsen (66) took fourth at 17-under 271.
