MLB: Florida 4, Atlanta 0

MIAMI, July 22 (UPI) -- Mike Jacobs hit a three-run homer and Florida's pitchers combined on a one-hitter Tuesday to deliver the Marlins a 4-0 victory over the Atlanta Braves.

Jacobs was 2-for-3 in the win and John Baker got the other RBI with a bases-loaded walk for Florida, which has won three of its last four games.

Rick VandenHurk (1-1) did not allow a hit or a run, but issued five walks and was pulled after five innings. The right-hander struck out seven in his first start since April 6.

Joe Nelson pitched a scoreless inning and allowed Atlanta's only hit. Renyel Pinto worked two innings and Matt Lindstrom had a perfect ninth.

Charlie Morton (2-3) gave up four runs on only two hits and four walks through 5 2/3 innings. Chipper Jones, the major leagues' batting leader, had the only hit for Atlanta, which has lost three of its last four.
